What are the Advantages of Performing the Narayan Nagbali Puja?

Which is the Ideal Time to Conduct Narayan Nagbali Puja in Trimbakeshwar?

As per our pandit ji Narayan Shashtri, Narayan Nagbali puja comes with many benefits.

However, to acquire these benefits, one must perform it at a fortunate period. This auspicious timing arrives when Jupiter and Venus are positioned in the month of Paush and added as an extra month in the lunar calendar. The rituals are intended to bring good fortune.

In addition to this, the pandits have regarded Nakshatragundosh to be an opportunity period for making decisions.

However, one must know that Dhanishtha Panchak and Tripad Nakshatra have been regarded as an unsatisfactory period to perform this ritual. People should begin performing this puja on the day of the 22nd lunar mansion if they aim to become parents.

Nonetheless, it is best to use the fifth and eleventh day of each lunar fortnight. On days with Hasta, Pushpa, Ashlesha, or Nakshatra – the ritual can start. Apart from this, Sunday, Monday, and Thursday are the lucky days to start the puja. If someone wants to perform Naagbali exclusively, they should perform the rite on the fifth and ninth full moon days.

In addition, the new moon occurs on an auspicious day in the ninth lunar mansion.

People should take into account the auspicious time for Naagbali if they perform Narayan and Naagbali separately. In addition to this, one must consult with our Pandit to know which would be the best time to perform the puja. Also one can check the above chart to get a clearer understanding of the dates that are considered as auspicious throughout the day.

What is the Procedure of the Narayan Nagbali Puja ?

First day

On the very first day of the puja, the native has to take a bath at the Trimbakeshwar holy site before going to do the Narayan Nagbali puja. The process starts with setting up two pots with gold idols of Vaivasvat Yama and Shrivishnu. Then the ritualistic worshiping of these gold idols is conducted which includes sixteen steps. During the puja, you will witness the spreading of the darbhas southwards and a line will be drawn with a darbha blade east of the pots. Then they are doused with water while a specific mantra is chanted under the supervision of the pandits.

You will find our pandits offering ten pindas with honey and other ingredients as the mantra is chanted. Then sandalwood paste is applied on the pindas which declares a sign of worship. After this, these Pindas are floated into the river which completes the first-day ritual. Offer ten pindas which have honey, ghee and sesame seeds on the darbhas amidst chanting of ‘काश्यपगोत्र अमुकप्रेत विष्णुदैवत अयं ते पिण्डः. Worship the pindas with the application of sandalwood paste and then absorb them in a river or a water-body. This is the rite of the first day.

Second day

On the second day of the ritual, the ceremonial worship of Lord Shiva is performed. It is performed in the middle of the day when Brahmans in odd numbers are invited. These brahmans perform the corpse in the shape of lord Shiva. However, the shradh is performed without reciting any type of mantras. The native has to begin by washing the feet of the Brahmans and then feeding them. In addition to this, the Pindas are immersed and the Brahmans are provided with money following traditional devotion.

As per our Pandit ji Narayan Shashtri, the Brahmans can be bestowed with garments, jewellery, cow or even gold. After this, the native has to beg the Brahmans to present the corpse to Tilanjali. Next, the Brahmans haveto offer the corpse water that has been mixed with sesame seeds, tulsi leaves, and darbha. Furthermore, it is customary to perform the ceremonies of Nagbali and Narayana Bali together.
